Organization
- Prepare and adjust the middle and long-term Museum improvement plans
- Prepare, adjust and evaluate the Museum's major projects
- Prepare, adjust, and implement a comprehensive plan to improve visitor satisfaction
- Establish standards in museum policies and visitor services
- Support projects regarding the exchange and cooperation with other international and domestic institutions and museums
- Budget, keep financial records and produce an annual report
- Organize, prepare and promote the Museum's exhibitions
- Manage all professional and commercial requests to photograph or film exhibits in the Museum
- Plan and conduct research projects concerning works of art and artifacts selected for exhibitions
- Promote exhibition exchange and cooperation with other foreign and domestic institutions and museums
- Manage the Museum library
- Produce and disseminate printed material for the Museum exhibitions including exhibition catalogues
- Develop and operate educational programs
- Preserve and oversee the Museum's collections, and manage the Museum's storage
- Expand the Museum's collections through various ways including purchases and gifts
- Conduct conservation activities for the works of art, using scientific methods
- Manage the affairs regarding the restoration and reproduction of works of art and photography of the Museum collections
- Perform investigation into the history of artifacts from the Joseon palaces
- Collect and preserve records and source materials
- Promote international cooperation for the collection conservation and management
- Manage affairs concerning copyrights and intellectual property rights on the reproductions of works of art
- Produce printed materials for the Museum collections including collection catalogues
- Manage the data processing office and run the Museum website
